Election day is riddled with offers for free food or tchotchkes for voters, but it is actually an illegal practice. As if you can sway voters with promises of sugar and discounts (sadly, probably), but check out these (legal) offers (and send me any I may have missed).
Ben & Jerry’s: free cone of Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream flavor from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Use this neat interactive map to find a participating location near you.
Boston Market: Purchase a Market Bowl and drink and receive a second Market Bowl for free.
California Tortilla: Wear an “I Voted” sticker or say “vote” and receive a free taco.
Einstein Bros Bagels: free bagel and schmear.*
M&Ms: Receive $10 off on orders over $65 and 15% off on orders over $100 here.
Olive Garden: Purchase any entree, mention the Election Day email you received (or “received”), and get a free Dolcini dessert.
On the Border: Purchase an entree at regular price and receive a free sopapilla. Remember to print the coupon off their Facebook page.
Park Chalet: After 3 p.m., get one free free taco for having an “I Voted” sticker. Then, enjoy $2.50 tacos, $3.00 pints and half-priced margaritas.*
Pinkberry: Tweet photos of your favorite flavors using the hashtag #pinkthevote and you could be one of 10 random winners to receive a small frozen yogurt with toppings.
Starbucks: They’re not offering free food, but if you’re getting your cup o’ joe anyway, get a free red, white and blue bracelet.
Taco Bueno: Claim and print the offer from their Facebook page and get free guacamole and chips (scroll down to their Saturday post).
Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop: Purchase a beverage and get a free donut with this coupon.
White Castle: “Like” them on Facebook, vote for your favorite fry, and get a coupon for a free small fry with any purchase.
zpizza: A pizza slice for only $1.25 with this coupon.
Don’t forget about your local deals and any that might be off-the-radar, and of course YMMV so a preemptive sorry for any disappointment. Happy fooding and happy voting!
*Disclaimer: since they can’t offer to only those who voted, they must give everyone one, so call ahead to see if your local store is participating.
Update: For you San Diego folks: your “I Voted” sticker gets you 15% off Studio Diner today.* (h/t to Tiffany for this special)
